Emergency Shelter
DVI’s confidential and secure Emergency Shelter provides a temporary safe place for victims of domestic violence (and their dependent children) who are forced to flee their home for safety reasons. Advocates are on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support, education, and counseling, as well as information and referral to community resources. Shelter residents are offered services to stabilize their immediate crisis as well as support long-term goal planning.
Call the 24-hour Hotline at 717.273.7190 for immediate help with an emergency or for more information about shelter services.
Housing Advocacy
Advocates assist shelter residents, as well as non-resident clients, with meeting their needs for housing and all the things that support housing (employment, transportation, etc.). Additionally, from time to time, DVI may have funds available to directly assist victims of domestic violence in relocating to another residence.
